After reading The Fiery Heart, I remembered why I hate cliffhangers so much. I soo need Sliver Shadows.

On a side note, what is up with that cover? It's horrendous. The cover models look nothing like Sydney or Adrian. And it's downright cheesy. Meh. They could have done just a tad bit better.
 

TTT - Top Ten Books I Want To Own

 

This week's topic is a freebie. So, I chose to share my top ten books I want to own. I don't own many books. (I know, surprising right?) That's just because books are so expensive and for that reason only, I borrow books from friends or just get them at the library. My list is mostly top ten book series I want to own (I don't know it just worked out that way). In no particular order..

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (Series)

I can't believe I don't own this series. I need it in my life. I did buy Spirit Bound though about a month ago. I'm definitely adding the rest soon!

Lux by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Series)

I read the first two books about a month ago and totally fell in love. I'm now reading the third book, Opal. This series is a must read which means that it's a must buy.

The Watchers by Veronica Wolff (Series)

This is not just another vampire series. This is a kickass, survival of the fittest vampire series. I need to get this pronto.

Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill (Series)

I love, love, love this one. It's not just about vampires but about a lot of other paranormals. I love how Chloe Neill fits politics into this series. I only own one book, Hard Bitten, but hope to get the rest.

Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost (Series)

Jeaniene Frost can write a kickass vampire novel. I love Cat and Bones!

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (Series)

I don't know why I don't own these books! They're at the top top of my favorites list.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (Series)

The same goes for the prequel to the Mortal Instruments. Can I just say WILL HERONDALE.

Blood of Eden by Julie Kagawa (Series)

Another vampire series but seriously I need these in my life. I actually won the last book in the trilogy, The Forever Song, in a giveaway so I was veeeerrrrryyyy excited about that. Now I just need the first two.

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry (Series)

I finished reading Crash Into You recently and it got me really wanting to get all of these books. They're amazing.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan (Series)

I only read and own (my cousin gave it to me) The Lightning Thief but I liked it so much that I want the whole series.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (Standalone)

I came close to buying this book. I totally should have.

The Scene

The last book in the Divergent trilogy finally takes place outside the walls of dystopian Chicago. Going into this, I was pretty excited to know what was outside. I was predicting like desolation and waste and survival stuff.

I was really off.

What's outside is the government. Apparently, there's like experiments in certain cities that the government (the United States of America, yeah that government) holds to try to "cure" genetically damaged people. And the Divergent are genetically pure people. I don't know, this plot line felt kinda insignificant especially because of the ending.

The Girl

If I start talking about Tris, it's just gonna be a crapload of spoilers. Or a ton of gifs. That give away said spoilers. All I'll say is I'm NOT happy with what happened.

The Boy(s)

Reading from Four's perspective was quite interesting. I always wondered what went on inside his head. I don't know if I liked the dual perspectives all that much. I kinda just liked reading from Tris' POV but it was still cool.

What went on with Peter really irked me. I had like a love/hate relationship (okay, maybe a amuse/hate relationship) going on with him after the events of Insurgent and while reading this book I was starting to like him a bit more. Until the end. It actually reminded me of his cowardice from the first book especially so it was like a wake up of some sorts. I mean he didn't do anything like really horrible but it disgusted me because he took the easy way out.

The Buzz

If you get over that wretched ending, then you could say that Allegiant was really good. I enjoyed reading it for the most part although at times I was a tiny bit bored. I have to say I liked Divergent and Insurgent better than the last book. I think it might have something to do with that ending...

Another Katie McGarry book?

I haven't even read Crash Into You yet (I know, *gasp*) and I'm already yearning for some more McGarry angst and drama. Take Me On looks really good as with all of the Pushing the Limits books. I haven't read about West yet ('cause I didn't read Crash Into You) but I've heard that a lot of people like him. 

So, yay!

Now leave me alone so I can dive into Isaiah and Rachel's story before this baby comes out.

Doesn't it sound so good? That cover is freaking gorgeous. When I found out that Jeaniene Frost, one of my favorite authors, was writing a new series I was ecstatic! I love her Night Huntress series and I was even more excited to hear that The Beautiful Ashes would be New Adult!

TTT - Top Ten Most Unique Books I've Read

This list was kinda hard to compile, but here ya go!

Obsidian was very unique to me in that it's about aliens. I normally don't read anything about aliens so I thought this was pretty different, but cool. Also, man this book is HOT. It's really really good.

The concept in this book was totally off the charts. It was actually kinda confusing with a lot of world building and sci-fiy stuff. It was definitely unique. Check out my review here.

Cinder had a very different premise. Books like these, I think you either love 'em or hate 'em and I fell in line with the latter. The very unique twist on Cinderella with robots was pretty daring though. My review can be seen here.

I love this book and it's unique take on Alice in Wonderland but with zombies! Oh, and COLE HOLLAND.

I never even heard of the concept of PSS in a book so it took me a bit by surprise. It was one of those books though that took you by surprise and made you love it. Check out my review here.

You might be thinking that it's just another vampire book. But, no it's a vampire book on an island with vampires and Watchers, aka kickass girls who protect said vampires. READ. IT.

I read this book when I was like 13, so a long time ago. I remember that the format was in emails that the main character, Emily, writes to her friend. I've never really read any books with this type of format but I ended up really loving this series. If you're in for a light and hilarious read, pick up the Emily series by Katie Maxwell. 

This whole series had such a different concept that I've never read about. Dragons. And I really ended up liking it until the last few books.

Lord of the Flies was so different from other books I've read and definitely unique compared to other books I've read for school. I ended up enjoying it though it is a bit creepy.

This book wasn't necessarily different from other young adult books out there but the twist on King Arthur was a bit unique.

The Scene

Drew's on an island again doing her own kickass routine. There's lots of training in this one with Ronan to boot. The whole thing with Emma in the previous book, Blood Fever, was dealt with (kinda), thank god, but it was still sad.

The Girl

Oh gosh. Can I just say that I love Drew? She is awesome and so kickass. I love her fight, her snark, and how strong she is. Yeah, she makes some stupid decision sometimes (who doesn't?) but I think that's what makes her a bit realistic, especially for a girl her age. Drew is a huge reason why I love the Watchers series so much.

The Boy(s)

Ronan was in this book so much. And I loved it. Don't get me wrong I like Carden but I've always been more of a Ronan fan. Drew and him just need to hurry up and get together already.

The WTF?!

Ohmygosh, what the hell was up with Yasuo?! I was totally flipping because I really liked him in the previous books. He went all freaking psycho on Drew and it actually made me a little sad. And angry.

The Buzz

I can't even begin to express how much I enjoy the Watchers series and The Keep was no exception. I loved the action, mystery, intrigue, and of course romance that totally kept me captivated. 

I just cannot wait for the next book to come out! But, to tide you over (and me) there's a novella out that's in Ronan's POV.
